About

November 11th, 2006

Ted and I purchased this house on St. Croix, USVI a few years ago.  It’s a lovely, large home on the shore of the Caribbean – on the north shore of St. Croix.  The area is rural in feel.  St. Croix is populated by people who live here – carry on commerce and raise their families (vs. St. Thomas which has much more of a tourist industry and seemingly transient population supported by a relative few locals).

Our home here is partly rental – we have tenants on the ground floor two units – and in general it has remained 100% rented since we purchased the house.  We reserve the 2nd floor for our own use.

We generally have our yellow lab dog – Bekka with us when we travel down to the island.  Nimbus (and Maggy when she was with us) have also joined us.  Nimbus is quite comfortable here!  Bekka LOVES it here.  She has freedom to roam and play in the water.  A really great life for a water dog.

Currently (November 2006) Hannah and her husband Ollie are living here – their plans have them here until Hannah’s enrollment at Berkeley (masters in Journalism program) in the fall of 2007.  It’s good to have them here keeping tabs on things, being “on hand” for problems with the house and tenants.  They seem to be enjoying themselves as well.

Sometimes we have units available for vacation rental.  Currently we have traveling nurses in one of the downstairs units on short contracts.  If you are interested in staying here – feel free to contact us (karin@karinsworld.com).
